Training workshop on land issues in Nyala

 

October 30, 2022, in efforts to tackle land-related issues and disputes, SalaaMedia Centre for Cultural Studies & Development, in cooperation with Darfur journalists Association and media personnel, supported by Freedom House and Sudan Human Rights Initiative, organized a three-day training workshop addressing Darfur Land Rights, Justice& Advocacy at Peace Studies Centre, Nyala University, in Nyala, Southern Darfur.

Program Director/ Mr. Sufian El-tigani stressed that lands are a sensitive issue in close relevance with human rights, adding, throughout the course of historical land use not only sparked a series of systematic violence but also shocking. This project aims to raise public awareness of citizens concerning land rights and use, hence, we can no longer tolerate seeing a land dispute, raised rifles or land-related war, highlighting land use, in particular, mining.
