In Sudan everything is on the rise, hate speech is on the rise, tribalism is on the rise, ethnic polarization is on the rise, death toll is on the rise, corruption is on the rise, raping is on the rise, brutality is on the rise, superiority complex is on the rise, inferiority complex is on the rise, poverty is on the rise, human rights violations are on the rise, drug dealers are on the rise, deterioration of all social services are on the rise, social cleavages are on the rise, economic disparities are on the rise, smugglers are on the rise, rampaging with impunity is on the rise, the debilitating of our structural system is on the rise, the probability of Sudan to get dismembered, dismantled, and fallen apart is on the rise, the looting and plundering of our precious resources are on the rise, the intervention of international big heavy-weight powers and boxers is on the rise, and the probability of God’s Big Curse on the Sudanese people and entire Sudan is, as well, on the rise.
Sudan is in an acute short supply of diversity management. Diversity is a fact of life without which the world will not get developed or grown. No country worldwide is free of diversity whether it is cultural diversity or political diversity or economic diversity or ethnic diversity or climatic diversity or social diversity. The world is full to the brim with diversity. The inevitability of diversity is an undeniable reality and fact. Even in one family, there is opinion diversity among its members. The most developed countries in the world are the ones which successfully managed to manage their diversity. Diversity management is a challenge and an opportunity for causing a positive change and for causing a break-through.
Sadly, Sudan is at the lowest rung of the diversity management ladder. Sudan has been inherited by leaders who have zero belief in diversity management. They firmly believe in diversity mismanagement rather than diversity management because diversity mismanagement serves their interests and ambition in terms of power and wealth. When you possess wealth you will surely have an easy access to power, and likewise, when you possess power, red carpet will be laid in front of you to access the wealth, and when you possess both of them, the wealth and power, and in the absence of rule of law, you will have the legitimacy to legitimize any illegitimacy with impunity including diversity mismanagement. Possession of the two powers; power of wealth and power of authority will doubtlessly legitimize the structural violence, cultural violence, and the physical violence. Possession of the two powers will legitimize the diversity mismanagement. The ongoing brutal war has cons which are many and pros which are few but useful. The useful pro of this particular war is that it has helped the Sudanese people to get exposed to other cultures in other neighboring countries, particularly the African countries, to see, with our naked eyes, humanity walking upon its two legs there, the generosity, the hospitality, the amicable co-existence, the tolerance, the acceptance. Sudanese people have been warmly welcomed there by the peoples of these neighboring sisterly African countries irrespective of their ideological or religious affiliations, attitudes and positions or of their central government. Sudanese people have been treated equally by the nationals of these neighboring sisterly African countries irrespective of the Sudanese identity and religions. African families have shown and expressed great emotional empathy towards the Sudanese families. In these African countries, there is no bullying, no religious or tribal discriminations, no ethnic polarization, no hate speech, no looting, no armed gangs, no barbed fencing, no skirmishing, anyone is own his or her own. Muslims peacefully go their respective mosques, likewise, Christians calmly go to their respective churches, non-Muslims and non-Christians have their own busyness and practices. Everyone adores and worships whatever they want providing that they do not violate or disturb others’ rights and freedoms. Citizenship is the bedrock and cornerstone of the life system here; it is a ‘Do No Harm Culture’. Sudanese people here in these neighboring sisterly African countries are really learning a lot from the cultures of these African nationals. Sudanese arrogance is being eroded as well as their pointless and baseless Sudanese superiority complex of religion and identity. I’m firmly sure that Sudanese will become future change agents due to these invaluable values that have been inculcated in their minds and hearts. Yes, Sudan will never be the same again when this nonsensical war is brought to an end. Exposure is an effective and efficient learning process. All Sudanese people, with their diverse political, religious, or social backgrounds, who will be coming back to Sudan from these neighboring sisterly African countries will only be talking about tolerance, acceptance, peaceful co-existence, Sudanism, and unity in diversity. Have I not told you that this ongoing damned war has its cons and pros? Another advantage of this nonsensical war is our Sudanese Football National Team and the superbly stunning victories they are achieving in Africa-wide. Should we ask God to keep us in this damned war till our National Team win the World Trophy? Or should we ask God to disqualify our National Team for the sake of peace? Or should we ask God to help us in both; bring this damned nonsensical war to an end as well as empowering and supporting our National Football Team to win the African Cup and World Trophy? I think, we all agree that the wise choice is the last option.
Why are these neighboring sisterly African countries are far ahead of us politically, socially, culturally, religiously, ethically and economically? Simply because they are honestly and committedly practicing diversity management on daily basis. Conversely, diversity management, as a provision, is there, deeply rooted in the political primary laws of all Sudanese political parties. No Sudanese political primary law is free of diversity management provision, nevertheless, it is not literally practiced in their circles. It is there as a window-dressing and charming curtain to beautify their primary laws and attract more membership, an absolute hypocrisy! Diversity management is there but unfortunately it is not there. What a paradoxical phrase is this? Yes, literally, it is there on the pages of political constitutions, primary laws, and policies but practically it is not there in the hearts and minds of these partisan politicians.
Does diversity mismanagement breed hate speech? Yes, it does. Does it breed injustice, inequity, and inequality? Yes, it does. Does it dehumanize human dignity? Yes, it does. Does it beget negative attitudes towards the structures and institutions which are practicing it? Yes, it does. Does it provoke the anger of the concerned masses? Yes, it does. Do these negative attitudes lead to violent behaviors? Yes, they do. Do these reckless violent behaviors lead to violent conflicts? Yes, they do. How possible for these violent conflicts to get grown or developed into a total nonsensically internecine war? It is very possible. Who are the victims of such nonsensical wars? Of course, the poor. Where are these poor people now? In the displaced and refugees’ camps while some of them are still there reeling under the scourge of the war. And those who waged this damned war, where are they? Some of them are in London comfortable hotels, Turkish luxurious apartments, Cairo hotels and apartments, while some others are in the Gulf countries. What are they doing there? They are waiting for the poor to defuse this violent damned war so that they come back again to Sudan to democratize, constitutionalize, federalize, regionalize, finalize, actualize, localize, realize, rationalize, socialize, legalize, legitimize and all these fake jargons and ambiguous vocabularies of these fake pseudo-politicians. Have you seen with your naked eyes the hypocrisy of this class?
In a nutshell, true and real diversity management is the sole option and the sole practical panacea for our political, and socio-economic ailments. It is the only option that can keep Sudanese peoples as one nation. Let us all genuinely participate in actualizing this diversity management if we truly aspire to keep this beloved country united. There is only one alternative, one choice, and one path, no more, no less; Diversity Management. It is high time to decolonize our hearts and minds from the arrogance of religion and identity. The neighboring sisterly African countries have offered us invaluable lessons in ethical norms and values through their warm reception, acceptance, and tolerance to our families who have deserted their homelands. They warmly received us in spite of our Sudanese superiority complex of religion, identity, and those crazy trivial thoughts. It is high time liberate our minds and hearts from diversity mismanagement, hate speech, and these other trivialities of …isms except Sudanism. Mother Africa is, really, a great mother, she deserves our respect, she deserves our appreciation, and our love. Mother Africa, we all, humbly, raise up our hats in appreciation and recognition of your big heart and prudent mind. Thanks for your warm welcoming and thanks for your generosity and hospitality.
May God open the Sudanese eyes a bit wider. Ameeeeen.
